This year is the year I work on my fitness and health and not just short term, as I have been notorious for in the past.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The plan is now one round of P90X, immediately followed by a round of P90x Plus. (finishing around July 4th) Then a few weeks of recovery and then I'm planning a round of INSANITY!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway.. Round One starts tomorrow (1/11) Here are my measurements and fit test stats..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Height - 5'11"&lt;br /&gt;Weight - 166lbs&lt;br /&gt;Body Fat - 21% (35lbs fat) (131 lbs lean muscle)&lt;br /&gt;Chest - 39"&lt;br /&gt;Waist - 36"&lt;br /&gt;Hips - 35"&lt;br /&gt;rt arm - 12.5" left arm - 12.25"&lt;br /&gt;rt thigh - 20.5 left thigh - 21"&lt;br /&gt;Calves - 14.5"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;FIT TEST NUMBERS (I've never done this before any other round of P90X)&lt;br /&gt;Resting Heart Rate - 78.. yikes!!&lt;br /&gt;Sit and Reach - +3"&lt;br /&gt;Pushups - 18 (could have done more.. I've lost a lot of strength since my last round)&lt;br /&gt;Pullups - 3.25 (again.. wow.. its been awhile)&lt;br /&gt;Vertical Leap (hardly a leap) - 13.25"&lt;br /&gt;Wall Squat - 1:13&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, there it is.. I personally think its a tad crazy to assume that a day of the week or day on the calendar means anything more than any other day.  But it is fantastic in the fact that many people DO make their minds up to do something.  That in and of itself is winner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That being said.. I have some things I want to change in the upcoming year :)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;~I will finish what I start~&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is sort of an all-encompassing "resolution."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over the last year I have been the master of  "on &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;Monday&lt;/span&gt; I will start..."  Anything, I began working out SEVERAL times this year, usually for about a week at a time.  Part of my plan is to get back into P90X with no excuses or deviations from the prescribed workout &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;regimen&lt;/span&gt;.  The goal at this very juncture is 2 rounds of P90X before July 4&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt;.  I have never felt better than when I was in the process of completing P90X.  I will feel that way again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also began attempting to learn a new language.  Of course, this was put on the back burner several times.  This year I really want to learn something new, expand my brain.  Not sure language I'm going to go with yet (Italian, German, &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;Chinese&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;Portuguese&lt;/span&gt;, who knows) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All of this (and much more) is directly because of my recent lack of determination, and hopefully this year will be the end of that!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;~I want to read a few books just for the joy of reading~&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;~Curse/Swear Less~&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;It was brought to my attention last night that I curse a lot...  &lt;a href="mailto:F#@$%"&gt;F#@$%&lt;/a&gt;  I had no idea! Man that was a great workout, and I think it'll be a good replacement for plyo for the time being...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I got up today and I decided today would be a doubles kind of day... so I threw in Medicine Ball Core Cardio from Tony Horton 1-on-1 and got Ab Ripper X out of the way.. what a great fun workout to start the day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just got done with Shoulders and Arms, while I know I've had some setbacks from the shoulder I'm not as far off as I thought I was... I did fantastic the first round, as you know, one set, then repeat, so then round two came and I got punked (early and often) I'm excited to hit it hard next week and show it who is boss!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Day two is supposed to be plyo and hiking, but first off there are excessive heat warnings today, and second our downstairs neighbor doesn't really appreciate the jumping that plyo entails (i think she's on the condo board or is friends with the condo board president so, I'm not messing with her :) ) I'm a little torn, I'm either going to do Interval X+, Kenpo-Cardio X+, or One-on-One Medicine Ball Core Cardio... Long time no talk!!</title><content type='html'>Hey all... REALLY LONG TIME, HUH??!?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's been so long I really don't know where to start.  How about that, Parry with no idea what to say...Haha &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've been trying to get back into working out the last few months (my last round of P90X in February was cut short after completely messing up my shoulder and partially dislocating a few muscles over there)  I'm finally to a point I can tolerate the pain and I have been attempting to start another round with a little success, I cant seem to stay motivated..  So I've come back to give my self some accountability.  I'll hopefully be around more, talking about my diet and hybrid workouts.. (P90X, TH One-On-One, and P90X+)  My Goal at this time is to continue a few of these workouts over the next few weeks and start a full round of P90X (mixed with hiking and the other workouts listed above) again the first week of August (Halloween Finish!!)  and then about 60 days of  One-On-One and P90X+ before Christmas...  Then maybe something new and insane for the new year...  thats the goal anyway.. haha&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, is anyone still around?? I havent been on Youtube forever!! Workouts are still in full swing and hiking is still going on multiple times a week.  Chest Shoulders and Tri KICKED MY ASS last night, its the first time that I've used my dumbbells and it was tough as nails!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However work has been crazy, crazy, crazy the last few weeks.  Thats nice though because I work for an extremely small company and we've been pretty slow for the last few months.  I'm extremely happy for the work but it's been a hectic few weeks, and I think there will be a few more weeks before we're not as crazy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hope everyone is still bringing it!!  I just started WEEK 11 and I'm super excited to kick day 90 in the butt! One noticable change from the first round was the change in my pushups! In the first round I dropped to my knees to finish a lot of the moves. I still busted it for as many regular pushups as i could, my breaking point was earlier than I liked. The first workout of phase three, was CRAZY! I only dropped to my knees to finish 3-4 Diamond Push-Ups near the end! I did a respectable amount of reps too! I was really pumped the changes from phase 1 to phase 3's innagural workout :) ARX, it had seemed like a million years since I've done ab ripper, so I was definitely feeling it, and it went pretty well!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today, plyo at 4:45 (SUCK) Plyo went well, I was still shaking off grogginess when it started but what a way to start the day huh? LOL Plans are to go hiking tonight but I believe if we have the same Severe Monsoon Storms we had yesterday, that might not happen, which it ok... My lack of updating the blog... is ... shameful! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm going to do my best to blog more during phase 3 of my P90X journey!  Monday I want to start posting more, I need one more weekend of my "blog recovery month" &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;{Small Phase 2 Recap}&lt;br /&gt;I have been doing regular doubles (normal workout in the morning and hiking the mountain after work!)  Its been killer for my legs as the hike is excessively uphill and tough as nails!  This phase has been incredible, I absolutely love P90X and how it has already changed my life in nearly 2 months!  I love the workouts Phase 2 gave me, and just as I got to like them and get a little more accustomed to them, recovery week, and new workouts!! LOL &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have to say as well the P90X youtube community has just heightened the experience of this journey!  I've never been more motivated or pumped to workout in my life and its all thanks to a little insanity on my part and the fantastic youtube community! I'm excited to start the next phase and hopefully feel as lost and hurt as much as I did when I started Phase 1! I'm sure I have a world of hurt in store...LOL. I'm so ready to bring it though!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My Phase 1 wrap up is loaded on youtube. &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a9zei__TNo"&gt;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a9zei__TNo&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did some progress pics from the Day 0 (technically Day -10) to Day 30ish of Round 1. I added another pic of me when I was super heavy 5 years ago. It was tough to put that online because I was so thouroughly disgusted with myself at that time with how I looked and what crap I was going through because of it. I keep those pics as reminders of where I don't want to be again. P90X is taking me even further than I thought it would in the first round! Sorry, maybe I'm still a little immature but was this place named be high school sophomores? LOL The creek has a 2.5 mile hike to a really cool pond along the creek where you can jump into the extremely cool clear water off of the rocks. Which after hiking for 2.5 miles on rough terrain is more than welcome! We hung around there for a few and then headed back. One of my friends brought his wife and on the way back I ended up carrying not only my backpack, and cooler, but his wifes backpack, because "I'm the crazy guy doing that p90x workout," she had a rough time on the way in so either we left her behind or someone had to lighten her load. It was all good though, little more of a workout! Ab Ripper is coming a long, it is still tough but I can do all 25 reps on almost all of the exercises.  Chest and Back is always a bear, but I pushed hard through it and increased my push-ups in everything but diamond push ups.  I had to skip plyo on Tuesday.  Tuesday was another hiking day after work and I couldn't do plyo at 5am without the downstairs neighbor possible murdering me.  I'm going to try and make it up though.  Shoulders and Arms is my favorite workout (I'm going to miss it in phase 2) and that went really well.  Hiked again on Thursday and continued my switch of Yoga and Kenpo, Yoga on the weekend really works a lot better for me.  Anyway, I'm feeling like a million bucks right now. I'm not sure what exactly it is but most of them are a struggle no matter how strong I feel throughout the rest of the workout. I have increased my reps each week so far, so I'm happy with that! Ab Ripper X is still rough, I definitely am feeling stronger and can do the entire thing with minimal breaks. I think I ate too late and had a little too much water beforehand but it went pretty well otherwise.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On a side note, I'm picking up my &lt;a href="http://www.lakesidesmiles.com/blog/Gilbert_Invisalign_Clear_Braces.htm"&gt;invisalign braces &lt;/a&gt;tomorrow. I kinda feel like a dork for getting braces for the first time at 26 but at the same time, my teeth bother the hell out of me and I can finally afford to do something about it on my own!! We had torrential rains Thursday night here and my building had a little issue with the roof leaking.  The leak caused a power outage on Friday so I spent the weekend with at my friends house. arms. I love that workout. Weights were up, I was definately feelin it today. I enjoyed the morning workout and it kind of energized me for the day. I can't believe its been nearly two weeks since I started!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My big news of the day is I finished the entire trail at Piestewa Peak, yesterday we made it just under 3/4 of the way up and today I was determined to make it the rest of the way. My friends on the other hand were happy getting back up to where they were yesterday. So I left them behind and climed the last half mile almost straight up to the top (keep in mind it was still 106 here...lol). What an incredible feeling!! Piestewa Peak's Summit Trail is just over 1.5 miles and it rises up a rather steep way... i think the total height of the peak is around 2600 feet. Anyway it was incredible and it just makes me want to do more... here is a pic of me at the top... P90X Week 2 Day 2</title><content type='html'>Hi Everyone... Welcome to my P90X Personal Fitness Blog!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hope to post every day, but who knows.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today was day two of my week two of P90X. Today I did PlyoX... I had to do it early in the morning, which sucked after a crazy bout of insomnia, because my friends wanted to hike some after work. Plyo kicks my ass, straight and simple, it improved a lot from the first week but still tough way to start the morning. Worked it all the way through!!! Week three will get even better!! After a looooooooooong day of work I met up with my friends and started the 15 minute walk to the base of piestewa peak in Phoenix. HOLY LORD, I felt out of shape from the get go, its 1.5 miles of really steep climbs. (See Pic) My friends were gassed at the quarter point, and I'm not going to lie, with 106 degree heat it was TOUGH... But I kept encouraging them and we ended up about 3/4 of the way up, it was incredi-tough... so tough I created a word for it. My P90X mentality is starting to take shape and I was telling my friends to bring it, which started to get annoying, even to me.
