P90X (2.0) Day One

Well, after a weekend of sitting by the pool, drinkin beers and burning up (it had to be 114) I decided to skip the last week of my pre P90X workout and just BRING IT!!

I'm feeling freaking great about the start of this round, just I did in February (killed it for a month, then jacked up my neck and shoulder, which basically rendered me useless for 3 months)

Anyway, Day One was 7/27 and Chest and Back went OK.. I did fantastic the first round, as you know, one set, then repeat, so then round two came and I got punked (early and often) I'm excited to hit it hard next week and show it who is boss!!

Day two is supposed to be plyo and hiking, but first off there are excessive heat warnings today, and second our downstairs neighbor doesn't really appreciate the jumping that plyo entails (i think she's on the condo board or is friends with the condo board president so, I'm not messing with her :) ) I'm a little torn, I'm either going to do Interval X+, Kenpo-Cardio X+, or One-on-One Medicine Ball Core Cardio... I'll let ya know...

Anyway here are my pre P90X Stats and a (slightly red pic or two)

Day One Pre-Workout Measurements
Chest - 38"
Waist - 34"
Hips - 38"
Rt. Arm - 13"
Lft Arm - 12.25"
Rt Thigh - 20"
Lft Thigh - 21"
Calves - 15"
Weight - 162.2lbs
Body Fat - 16.5%

Allow me to explain :)

I know, I've been MIA for a few weeks on my blogs (both here and at youtube) I haven't stopped working out or anything... quite the contrary. Workouts are still in full swing and hiking is still going on multiple times a week. Chest Shoulders and Tri KICKED MY ASS last night, its the first time that I've used my dumbbells and it was tough as nails!!

However work has been crazy, crazy, crazy the last few weeks. Thats nice though because I work for an extremely small company and we've been pretty slow for the last few months. I'm extremely happy for the work but it's been a hectic few weeks, and I think there will be a few more weeks before we're not as crazy.

I hope everyone is still bringing it!! I just started WEEK 11 and I'm super excited to kick day 90 in the butt! I'll try and post something on youtube this weekend so everyone knows I'm still alive!!

Phase Three Has Begun!

Phase Three kicked off last night with Chest & Back!! One noticable change from the first round was the change in my pushups! In the first round I dropped to my knees to finish a lot of the moves. I still busted it for as many regular pushups as i could, my breaking point was earlier than I liked. The first workout of phase three, was CRAZY! I only dropped to my knees to finish 3-4 Diamond Push-Ups near the end! I did a respectable amount of reps too! I was really pumped the changes from phase 1 to phase 3's innagural workout :) ARX, it had seemed like a million years since I've done ab ripper, so I was definitely feeling it, and it went pretty well!

Today, plyo at 4:45 (SUCK) Plyo went well, I was still shaking off grogginess when it started but what a way to start the day huh? LOL Plans are to go hiking tonight but I believe if we have the same Severe Monsoon Storms we had yesterday, that might not happen, which it ok... I feel like I'm so far behind on some general adult stuff like laundry, dishes, cleaning, and I'm building a website which has been relatively neglected recently.

Btw if you know anyone wanting web design I freelance... ;)

Keep bringing it, and you know I'll be right there with ya!!

I'm sorry

Ok, it's been on my mind for awhile... My lack of updating the blog... is ... shameful!

I'm going to do my best to blog more during phase 3 of my P90X journey! Monday I want to start posting more, I need one more weekend of my "blog recovery month"

{Small Phase 2 Recap}
I have been doing regular doubles (normal workout in the morning and hiking the mountain after work!) Its been killer for my legs as the hike is excessively uphill and tough as nails! This phase has been incredible, I absolutely love P90X and how it has already changed my life in nearly 2 months! I love the workouts Phase 2 gave me, and just as I got to like them and get a little more accustomed to them, recovery week, and new workouts!! LOL

I have to say as well the P90X youtube community has just heightened the experience of this journey! I've never been more motivated or pumped to workout in my life and its all thanks to a little insanity on my part and the fantastic youtube community! I'm going to post a "exotic location" phase 2 recap with some pics hopefully this weekend (I know I'm making the video tomorrow)

YOU ALL ARE FREAKIN GREAT! Much love goin out to ya all!

Talk to you all soon, Phase 3 Starts MONDAY

Blog Slacker - Rest Week

Sorry, the lack of blog update. Rest week is going interestingly well. The only new thing so far is Core Synergistics on Tuesday. I was sweating buckets during that workout. I felt just off kilter the entire time. it was interesting, and I'm kind of excited to give it another go round on Friday. Anyway all is good, always bringing it as much as I have in me. I'm also looking forward to some new workouts in phase 2!!!

Keep Bringin it!!

Saturday was a LONG DAY

Saturday started my day with Yoga (I switch yoga and kenpo so I have time to do it on Saturday) Then my friends and I had a trip to hike planned (Really kinda going crazy with the hiking lately) We drove about 60 miles north of Phoenix to a place, and this is no lie, called Wet Beaver Creek. Sorry, maybe I'm still a little immature but was this place named be high school sophomores? LOL The creek has a 2.5 mile hike to a really cool pond along the creek where you can jump into the extremely cool clear water off of the rocks. Which after hiking for 2.5 miles on rough terrain is more than welcome! We hung around there for a few and then headed back. One of my friends brought his wife and on the way back I ended up carrying not only my backpack, and cooler, but his wifes backpack, because "I'm the crazy guy doing that p90x workout," she had a rough time on the way in so either we left her behind or someone had to lighten her load. It was all good though, little more of a workout! Anyway here are some pics from my cell phone from the hike...

Week 3 Day 5 Today!!

Busy week this week, which is nice.

This week has been GREAT! Ab Ripper is coming a long, it is still tough but I can do all 25 reps on almost all of the exercises. Chest and Back is always a bear, but I pushed hard through it and increased my push-ups in everything but diamond push ups. I had to skip plyo on Tuesday. Tuesday was another hiking day after work and I couldn't do plyo at 5am without the downstairs neighbor possible murdering me. I'm going to try and make it up though. Shoulders and Arms is my favorite workout (I'm going to miss it in phase 2) and that went really well. Hiked again on Thursday and continued my switch of Yoga and Kenpo, Yoga on the weekend really works a lot better for me. Anyway, I'm feeling like a million bucks right now. I absolutely love the program so far, and now I have officially gotten farther into it then ever before.

Gotta Run

Legs and back and ARX tonight

Take care all and...

KEEP BRINGING IT!

Week 3 Day 1

Chest & Back and AbRipperX tonight.

I've definitely feeling stronger with all of the push ups in Chest and Back, although the diamond push ups ALWAYS kick my ass. I'm not sure what exactly it is but most of them are a struggle no matter how strong I feel throughout the rest of the workout. I have increased my reps each week so far, so I'm happy with that! Ab Ripper X is still rough, I definitely am feeling stronger and can do the entire thing with minimal breaks. I think I ate too late and had a little too much water beforehand but it went pretty well otherwise.

On a side note, I'm picking up my invisalign braces tomorrow. I kinda feel like a dork for getting braces for the first time at 26 but at the same time, my teeth bother the hell out of me and I can finally afford to do something about it on my own!! I'm very excited!

Thanks for checkin in

Tomorrow, Plyo and Hiking again after work!!

Keep Bringing It!

Quick Update

I'm at work so I can't be too long winded.  :)

After work Thursday I ended up running around like a mad man trying to get some things in order so I decided to switch YogaX to Saturday and do KenpoX early.  I have time on Saturday to give Yoga the attention it deserves..haha...

One thing I've noticed this week is not necessarily that my arms are becoming huge or anything yet (although there are gains in that department)  It's the structural muscles are beginning to thicken up, I've had terrible shoulders forever, they've always felt weak.  I'm noticing that my shoulders, hips, and core muscles are becoming more structurally sound, like a foundation has been laid.    It's just a cool thing to feel develop, so much more than I've ever experienced.  And to think that I'm not quite two weeks into this.  It really gets me pumped for the days to come with this program.

Anyway I better get back to work before I get fired or something and I'm doing P90X on the streets of Phoenix.

Legs & Back and AbRipperX Tonight!!

HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY ALL...

KEEP BRINGIN IT!!

Week 2 Day 3 - I scaled to the peak

today was a bear of a day.

I woke up early to get my P90X workout in, today, shoulders & arms. I love that workout. Weights were up, I was definately feelin it today. I enjoyed the morning workout and it kind of energized me for the day. I can't believe its been nearly two weeks since I started!

My big news of the day is I finished the entire trail at Piestewa Peak, yesterday we made it just under 3/4 of the way up and today I was determined to make it the rest of the way. My friends on the other hand were happy getting back up to where they were yesterday. So I left them behind and climed the last half mile almost straight up to the top (keep in mind it was still 106 here...lol). What an incredible feeling!! Piestewa Peak's Summit Trail is just over 1.5 miles and it rises up a rather steep way... i think the total height of the peak is around 2600 feet. Anyway it was incredible and it just makes me want to do more... here is a pic of me at the top... I'm going to try and get into it more on my youtube blog later this weekend...

Anyway I'm completely gassed from the hike... I have to make up AbRipperX in the morning. Off to bed...

Thanks for checkin in...

Keep Bringing It!!!
