P90X Phase 2 -Day 1

Phase 2 of P90X starts for me today with Chest, Shoulders, & Tricepts then AbRipper. I'm excited to start the next phase and hopefully feel as lost and hurt as much as I did when I started Phase 1! I'm sure I have a world of hurt in store...LOL. I'm so ready to bring it though!

My Phase 1 wrap up is loaded on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a9zei__TNo

I did some progress pics from the Day 0 (technically Day -10) to Day 30ish of Round 1. I added another pic of me when I was super heavy 5 years ago. It was tough to put that online because I was so thouroughly disgusted with myself at that time with how I looked and what crap I was going through because of it. I keep those pics as reminders of where I don't want to be again. P90X is taking me even further than I thought it would in the first round! I'm always excited to see what the 90th day brings and then ahead to the next round, because its a Marathon not a Sprint!

Here is one of my pics... dont laugh too hard :)

Blog Slacker - Rest Week

Sorry, the lack of blog update. Rest week is going interestingly well. The only new thing so far is Core Synergistics on Tuesday. I was sweating buckets during that workout. I felt just off kilter the entire time. it was interesting, and I'm kind of excited to give it another go round on Friday. Anyway all is good, always bringing it as much as I have in me. I'm also looking forward to some new workouts in phase 2!!!

Keep Bringin it!!

Saturday was a LONG DAY

Saturday started my day with Yoga (I switch yoga and kenpo so I have time to do it on Saturday) Then my friends and I had a trip to hike planned (Really kinda going crazy with the hiking lately) We drove about 60 miles north of Phoenix to a place, and this is no lie, called Wet Beaver Creek. Sorry, maybe I'm still a little immature but was this place named be high school sophomores? LOL The creek has a 2.5 mile hike to a really cool pond along the creek where you can jump into the extremely cool clear water off of the rocks. Which after hiking for 2.5 miles on rough terrain is more than welcome! We hung around there for a few and then headed back. One of my friends brought his wife and on the way back I ended up carrying not only my backpack, and cooler, but his wifes backpack, because "I'm the crazy guy doing that p90x workout," she had a rough time on the way in so either we left her behind or someone had to lighten her load. It was all good though, little more of a workout! Anyway here are some pics from my cell phone from the hike...

Week 3 Day 5 Today!!

Busy week this week, which is nice.

This week has been GREAT! Ab Ripper is coming a long, it is still tough but I can do all 25 reps on almost all of the exercises. Chest and Back is always a bear, but I pushed hard through it and increased my push-ups in everything but diamond push ups. I had to skip plyo on Tuesday. Tuesday was another hiking day after work and I couldn't do plyo at 5am without the downstairs neighbor possible murdering me. I'm going to try and make it up though. Shoulders and Arms is my favorite workout (I'm going to miss it in phase 2) and that went really well. Hiked again on Thursday and continued my switch of Yoga and Kenpo, Yoga on the weekend really works a lot better for me. Anyway, I'm feeling like a million bucks right now. I absolutely love the program so far, and now I have officially gotten farther into it then ever before.

Gotta Run

Legs and back and ARX tonight

Take care all and...

KEEP BRINGING IT!

Week 3 Day 1

Chest & Back and AbRipperX tonight.

I've definitely feeling stronger with all of the push ups in Chest and Back, although the diamond push ups ALWAYS kick my ass. I'm not sure what exactly it is but most of them are a struggle no matter how strong I feel throughout the rest of the workout. I have increased my reps each week so far, so I'm happy with that! Ab Ripper X is still rough, I definitely am feeling stronger and can do the entire thing with minimal breaks. I think I ate too late and had a little too much water beforehand but it went pretty well otherwise.

On a side note, I'm picking up my invisalign braces tomorrow. I kinda feel like a dork for getting braces for the first time at 26 but at the same time, my teeth bother the hell out of me and I can finally afford to do something about it on my own!! I'm very excited!

Thanks for checkin in

Tomorrow, Plyo and Hiking again after work!!

Keep Bringing It!

Mini Flood

What a fun weekend... We had torrential rains Thursday night here and my building had a little issue with the roof leaking. The leak caused a power outage on Friday so I spent the weekend with at my friends house. I still got all the workouts in but I felt like a nomad until I got home this afternoon.

I'm going to try and get my week two video on youtube as soon as I can.

Keep Bringing It!!!

Quick Update

I'm at work so I can't be too long winded.  :)

After work Thursday I ended up running around like a mad man trying to get some things in order so I decided to switch YogaX to Saturday and do KenpoX early.  I have time on Saturday to give Yoga the attention it deserves..haha...

One thing I've noticed this week is not necessarily that my arms are becoming huge or anything yet (although there are gains in that department)  It's the structural muscles are beginning to thicken up, I've had terrible shoulders forever, they've always felt weak.  I'm noticing that my shoulders, hips, and core muscles are becoming more structurally sound, like a foundation has been laid.    It's just a cool thing to feel develop, so much more than I've ever experienced.  And to think that I'm not quite two weeks into this.  It really gets me pumped for the days to come with this program.

Anyway I better get back to work before I get fired or something and I'm doing P90X on the streets of Phoenix.

Legs & Back and AbRipperX Tonight!!

HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY ALL...

KEEP BRINGIN IT!!

Week 2 Day 3 - I scaled to the peak

today was a bear of a day.

I woke up early to get my P90X workout in, today, shoulders & arms. I love that workout. Weights were up, I was definately feelin it today. I enjoyed the morning workout and it kind of energized me for the day. I can't believe its been nearly two weeks since I started!

My big news of the day is I finished the entire trail at Piestewa Peak, yesterday we made it just under 3/4 of the way up and today I was determined to make it the rest of the way. My friends on the other hand were happy getting back up to where they were yesterday. So I left them behind and climed the last half mile almost straight up to the top (keep in mind it was still 106 here...lol). What an incredible feeling!! Piestewa Peak's Summit Trail is just over 1.5 miles and it rises up a rather steep way... i think the total height of the peak is around 2600 feet. Anyway it was incredible and it just makes me want to do more... here is a pic of me at the top... I'm going to try and get into it more on my youtube blog later this weekend...

Anyway I'm completely gassed from the hike... I have to make up AbRipperX in the morning. Off to bed...

Thanks for checkin in...

Keep Bringing It!!!

P90X Blog (Day 1)... P90X Week 2 Day 2

Hi Everyone... Welcome to my P90X Personal Fitness Blog!!

I hope to post every day, but who knows.

Today was day two of my week two of P90X. Today I did PlyoX... I had to do it early in the morning, which sucked after a crazy bout of insomnia, because my friends wanted to hike some after work. Plyo kicks my ass, straight and simple, it improved a lot from the first week but still tough way to start the morning. Worked it all the way through!!! Week three will get even better!! After a looooooooooong day of work I met up with my friends and started the 15 minute walk to the base of piestewa peak in Phoenix. HOLY LORD, I felt out of shape from the get go, its 1.5 miles of really steep climbs. (See Pic) My friends were gassed at the quarter point, and I'm not going to lie, with 106 degree heat it was TOUGH... But I kept encouraging them and we ended up about 3/4 of the way up, it was incredi-tough... so tough I created a word for it. My P90X mentality is starting to take shape and I was telling my friends to bring it, which started to get annoying, even to me. All in all it was dissapointing not to make the summit ( that sounds cool, right) But after we got back to the starting point I convinced them to try again tommorrow!!!

So tomorrow the plan is as follows, early morning shoulders and arms, hiking to the peak after work, then a little ab ripper x before bed... It's going to be fun...

By the way, thanks ATTICUS05 for the inspiration for the blog, THANKS BRO! Visit his blog at http://makinitxlike.blogspot.com/

Take care all - Until Next Time.... Keep Bringing it
